K-9

Please welcome K-9 Harry and his handler, Deputy Colby Atkins who have completed their training and are now working the roads in Andrew County as a certified K-9 team.

The money obtained to purchase K-9 Harry was received through a charitable donation from the Messick Trust Foundation.

K-9 Harry is a Belgium Malinois, who is approximately 2 ½ years old.

Deputy Atkins and K-9 Harry began their training in November, 2022 and completed their training and received their certification as a K-9 Team in March, 2023.

K-9 Harry and Deputy Atkins will be able to assist law enforcement with-in the Northwest region of Missouri in various ways such as:

Looking for missing persons such as children or walkaways from nursing homes

Apprehension of suspects wanted for felony charges

Recovery of evidence

Narcotics Detection

Handler Protection
